Creating a Travel Brochure for 7-12

This would be suitable for a history, geography or even a social sciences class.

put the students in groups and tell the students that you want them to create two travel brochures, one for a local place, the other for somewhere very distant.
have students do research on both places and make sure they include pictures in their brochure. The local place can be photographed by the students. The distant place can be represented by photographs from the web or out of magazines.
have them find a considerable amount of information about the places, well-known facts as well as unique tidbits.
after everyone creates their brochures, share them with the class and generate discussion on the content that violated copyright laws.
